From Idea to Launch in 30 Days: Inside Our Startup Studio Sprint
The 30-day sprint we use to take a validated idea to a live, paying product — week by week, including what we deliberately leave out.
By FGA Labs
Once an idea survives validation, it enters a 30-day build sprint with one non-negotiable outcome: a live product that can accept payment. Not a beta, not a waitlist — a product a stranger can buy. The deadline is the design constraint that shapes every other decision, and after many of these sprints, the structure has settled into a rhythm.
Week 1: The walking skeleton
The first week produces an end-to-end slice of the product doing its single core job — ugly, narrow, but real. Sign up, do the thing, see the result. Starting end-to-end instead of layer-by-layer means integration surprises show up on day four instead of day twenty-four, and every subsequent week improves a working product rather than assembling a theoretical one.
Weeks 2–3: Depth on the one thing
The middle weeks are spent making the core job excellent — and consciously not spent widening scope. This is where a shared studio stack pays its rent: auth, billing, email, and deployment are lifted from previous products, so nearly all new effort lands on the feature that makes this product worth buying. AI agents carry the pattern-following work; humans hold the product judgment and review the boundaries.
Week 4: Launch mechanics
- Pricing live from day one — a launch without a price is a demo.
- Onboarding tested on someone who has never seen the product, watched in silence.
- Analytics on the one funnel that matters: visit, sign-up, first success, payment.
- A launch post written in the customer's vocabulary, not ours.
Thirty days is not enough time to build the product you imagine. It is exactly enough time to build the product that tests whether your imagination is right.
What ships on day 30 is deliberately incomplete. The sprint's job is not to finish the product — it is to start the only conversation that matters, the one with paying customers, as early as honesty allows. Everything after day 30 is steered by them, not by us.
